Grandma-ma

I am going to share with you a very special lady in my life, whom I love so much. She is and always will be one of my favorite people. I call her Grandma-ma and she is my great grandma. She celebrated her 89th birthday this January and there is really no other woman quite like her. Grandma-ma is not your average Great Grandmother...she has always been super outspoken and continuously makes everyone around her laugh. A few key things about Grandma-ma are; she is very loving, if you met her once in your life, I can probably guarantee you she says a prayer for you before she goes to bed every night (she prays for the living and the deceased, I have never heard a prayer list as long as hers), she has a huge obsession with playing cards, and she swears like a truck driver! no joke either. She is the same woman who would take out her dentures and put on a shower cap and come downstairs before bed just to make us all laugh! When I was younger she would sometimes come over for a night and I remember my brother and sisters and my friends would all want to come over as well...just because they all loved her and we would all crack up and play cards with her. She is a pretty spicey old lady if you ask me! My family basically has our own personal
Betty White, but cooler!

Here is a little video clip I took of her singing a couple summers ago...

To say the least, I truely enjoy her company and visited her a couple weeks ago like I always do. I brought her lunch, Taco Bell, her favorite and we played our usual card game, Fifty. This time I made it a point to take a couple of photos of her!

Playing cards with her....she beats me everytime!
She concentrates and has in depth conversations with herself!

That is what hardworking hands look like after 89 years...
I hope to be as awesome as she is, when I am that age!

To know her is to love her!

Letizia

My blogging has been slacking...

However, I am happy to say I have been able to balance my time with school and work quite well. I kind of sort of treasure this time, where work isn't as busy as the fall. It is like a vacation of some sort. It is also a blessing in disguise because I can now be the a good student again and get the grades I deserve.

Another plus is I have been able to make time to do some personal projects I have been itching to do for the longest time! I have been wanting to shoot some fashion/glamour/beauty type of concepts, but I never had the time. I want to expand my portfolio and experiment with different types of lighting, concepts and etc...I don't know if I had mentioned that before or not? O well!
SOOo that is what I have been doing!

On Friday, I photographed a dear from of mine, Letizia. I <3 Letizia! I have always admired everything about this girl, her drama free, easy going personality, her style, her SHOES (she is the manager of Steve Madden at Somerset! so of course she always has great shoes on!), her face! This girl has pretty much got it all! We got together on Friday and put together some awesome outfits. One thing we noticed is we had a little pattern going on, every out fit we chose had lace in it. Just a side note: I love love love lace!
I decided to shoot at my Grandparents house, because they have a beautiful home and it looks like it has never been touched! My Grandma has many beautiful vintage pieces in her house, so I figured it would be a good match to go with our wardrobe we chose.

Letizia did an awesome job modeling...I have to say I am very surprised she has never really modeled before!

Here are a few of my faves from our shoot.....

Isn't she lovely?

Thank you Letizia for being such a amazing model and for all your patience!
I cannot wait to work with you again in the Spring!
